Acme Art Studios in Wilmington, NC
My friend and founder of The Starving Artist Magazine, Cammeron Batanides, suggested that we visit the Open House at the Acme Art Studios in Wilmington on Dec 6—so Aaron (my nine year old son) and I checked it out. This studio is a huge brick building at 711 N. 5th Street—lots of space, and it houses about 23 very creative artists. The best part about the whole trip was that Aaron had a blast taking pictures and meeting the artists! View the links at the bottom of this page to see some of the artists’ websites and enjoy my son’s photography.

Sandra Ihly

Below are a few photos taken by Aaron at Acme Art Studios. They seem like random objects, but really they are shapes and colors that most adults take for granted. Aaron saw art in all these photos and I have to say, we may have a photographer in the making.

Aaron shot this one in Sandra Ihly's studio.

We encourage you to check out all these artists. For more information about Acme Art Studios visit their blog spot at http://acmeart711.blogspot.com.
Thanks for the warm welcome, Acme Art Studios! --Christine Clemmons
